About Us
The George Billingsley Razorback Club is a non-profit chapter of the Razorback Foundation
supporting University of Arkansas men’s and women’s athletics. The
Razorback Foundation assists student-athletes by providing for
scholarships, facilities and various programs that enable them to
realize their dreams of achieving a quality college education while
participating in athletics on a nationally competitive level.
Our
club is named after former prominent local businessman and staunch
Razorback and University of Arkansas supporter George Billingsley, who
initially founded the club in the 1960’s. During those years,
George organized late summer gatherings between Razorback coaches and
local Razorback fans, holding them first in Rogers and later in Bella
Vista. He also founded the NCAA Football Coaches Golf Tournament
in 1969, held for many years in Bella Vista. Among regular players
were Paul “Bear” Bryant, Darrell Royal, Ara Parseghian and Frank
Broyles. In addition, George provided summer employment in the
‘60s and ‘70s for past Razorback greats like Bill Montgomery, Bill
Burnett, Chuck Dicus, Joe Ferguson, Pat Morrison and others.
Club membership and activity diminished over the years until 2001
when the club was reorganized. It was later renamed the George
Billingsley Bentonville/Bella Vista Razorback Club. Our club has
grown in members each year since then.
George and his wife Boyce were honored in 2002 as the
recipients of the University of Arkansas’ Sports Hall of Honor's
Distinguished Service Award. In 2005, they were also named (George
posthumously) as the University of Arkansas’ recipients of the
Chancellor’s Medal. A bust in their likeness is displayed at
Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. It’s an honor for our club
to be named for George Billingsley and for us to have Boyce as an active
member of the club.

Membership
Annual membership
fees are due at the beginning of each year. There are several ways you
can pay your 2008 membership fees:
- Pay $10.00 per
person at a Billingsley Club event.
-
Send a payment of
$10.00 per person to the address shown at right.
-
Contribute to the Razorback Foundation,
http://www.razorbackfoundation.net, whose fees include your local
GBRC membership fee. The Foundation requires each member to reselect
their local Razorback Club each year at renewal time. Taking this
action enables our club to receive credit for your membership and
ensures you’re listed as “paid” at our 2008 events. Just list Club 2
on your 2008 renewal form. If you’ve already renewed for 2008 and
didn’t list our club, please contact the Foundation at 479-443-9000
and have them add it to your membership information.
